After living in the Third World (oops, I mean Developing World) for four months, the Young family is now adjusting to life in America again. We are enjoying the comforts of home, but moving from one culture to another does strange things to the mind. One day you are living around people who are struggling to find something to eat and a plane ride later you are living in luxury with people complaining about the price of gas while they sit in Starbucks with their $3 lattes. (I must confess to enjoying one or two myself since my return. Though I couldn't help but think I was spending what some Africans make in one 12 hour day.)
Pray for us as we continue to adjust to life outside of the "Third World." If you want a nice primer on life on the inside, pick up Paul Harrison's book "Inside the Third World: The Anatomy of Poverty." He's not an evangelical - but it seems that evangelicals are seldom concerned about poverty these days. Or you could listen to my sermons over the next few weeks. I'm sure I'll be talking about it a lot. Hopefully talking about it will help me readjust to life in America.

I will continue to pray for the adjustment of the whole Young family. As a "anonymous" member of Calvary, it has been my joy to pray for your trip. Heavy on my heart has been to pray, even more so, for your return. I am encouraged to read that you are asking for continued prayers.
As someone who lived for some time in another country, it is often hard to imagine that the two places co-exists on the same planet and undercare the care of the One, true God.
