Violence broke out in Kenya after disputed elections in late December causing us to consider advice from various sources before travelling. We really wanted to be a blessing to Linda Ndethiu and the Kids Alive staff – they have such a tough job! I was concerned about the message it would send our missionaries if we would not come visit them – they have to live there all the time. I felt pretty good about our decision to go, and then received a phone call 30 minutes before boarding our flight from Al Lackey who was in London. The British embassy was issuing strong travel warnings, and the rest of the team of twenty or so from the US would NOT be joining us due to the assassination of a member of parliament which was causing more violence in the country. We boarded the flight with this on our mind . . . but God kept us safe thanks to your prayers.
