I was asked to be the guest speaker in one of my student's church in Baguio on Sunday for Mother's Day. The top picture is outside of the church looking over the city. In the middle picture I'm standing just in the doorway of the church wearing a b
arong (formal dress attire in the Philippines) with one of my students named Jonathan. Below is a partial view of the 150 or so worshippers in the service. How I missed being with my church family at Calvary on Mother's Day.

hey lionel! we missed you on mother's day. did you hear i did announcements?? don't worry, i didn't slip up and introduce myself as the "assistant senior pastor" :). hehe
hope things are going well. take lost of pictures for me!! i am enjoying your red chairs while you're gone.
Ash -
Stacy told me you did a fantastic job with announcements. I do like the title "Assistant Senior Pastor" - I think a few small revisions to your jd - and you could handle it brilliantly (as they say in Scotland). Can't beleive I will be back in the office on Tuesday! Wow. Until then - enjoy the chairs:).
Thanks for all your prayers - and your assistance with a variety of matters in my absence.
Rev,
Miss ya. Hurry back so we can hit the links.
You're looking a little thin--Brent must have been right about the food there! We missed you on mother's day but the guys took good care of me.
Brother - You look great! We miss you so much.
Love you,

Lionel,
We miss you but are happy for the experience and reflection time you're gaining. I know it will benefit the entire congregation as well as the world! Have a safe return.

I, and this happens infrequently, but really am at a loss for words. So, I wanted to let you know I was thinking and praying for you.

Pastor Lionel,
Great to see the pictures. This is a fantastic way to see you in action for the Lord and for ABTS.
Don't forget to take a picture of your whole class.
Sorry that the big conference in the Philippines lessened the amount of students who could come to class, but praise the Lord for the influence you have already had for the Kingdom. I believe God hand-picked the students that are studying with you. Can't wait to hear how God will use this class in their lives and minstry.
Praise the Lord our ABTS Coordinator in Myanmar called this AM to say that they are all well although there was some loss of roofs on buildings.
Pray for Bob and co-worker Andy. They are in Chiang Mai these two weeks getting visas and work permits. Pray for gov't officials who deal with their applications.
Thank you again for teaching for ABTS. You are a tremendous addition to our adjunct faculty.
Esther Rapa for Bob and ABTS
