I received an e-mail today from Abraham Thomas, our missionary to India - and my good friend. He informs me that Christians are being attacked simply because they want to celebrate Christmas, and because they are witnessing to others about their faith. Hindus have accused Christians of "provoking" the attacks (see the article in BBC) but there is no evidence for this. (This has been a common line of attack taken by haters of the gospel for 2,000 years - kill Christians and blame them for provoking the hatred.)
While we enjoy the comforts of home - and Western culture - may we remember that the Enemy does not rest - and that our brothers and sisters in Christ are facing great opposition for their faith. Their faithfulness inspires me today . . .
